The International Conference on Innovation and Sustainability in Applied Sciences (ICISAS) 2025, hosted by Curtin University Dubai in collaboration with the Zayed Foundation and Dubai Police Academy, convened global experts, researchers, and industry leaders to delve into groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence, cloud security, and ethical technology.

Taking place on February 22-23 at the Dubai Police Academy in Umm Suqeim, the event saw participation from renowned academic publishers such as Taylor & Francis, MDPI, Atlantis Press, and Springer Nature. With an overwhelming 436 research paper submissions from 36 countries, the conference upheld its reputation as a premier platform for fostering collaboration between academia and industry. A total of 272 papers were accepted for presentation, underscoring the conference’s emphasis on innovation and the practical application of emerging technologies.

A key focus of ICISAS 2025 was addressing critical challenges in AI and cybersecurity, particularly in data privacy, ethical AI governance, and cloud security. Experts engaged in high-level discussions on AI-driven cybersecurity frameworks, privacy-enhancing technologies, federated learning, and blockchain integration—crucial areas for strengthening data protection and resilience in the digital era. The conference also explored AI’s potential in advancing sustainability efforts and building intelligent digital infrastructure to tackle global challenges.

Industry thought leaders, security specialists, and representatives from leading global institutions contributed to discussions on innovative AI models designed to enhance cybersecurity, mitigate evolving threats, and ensure regulatory compliance in an ever-changing digital landscape. Professor Chithirai Pon Selvan, the conference chair, emphasized the urgency of bridging the gap between industry needs and academic research to drive meaningful advancements in AI and sustainable computing.

One of the standout moments of the conference was the recognition of Rahul Vadisetty, whose research on “Generative AI and Privacy-Preserving Big Data Analytics in Cloud Environments with AI Agents” earned him the prestigious Best Presenter Award. His work introduces an AI-driven security framework that leverages encryption, anonymization, and self-learning cybersecurity agents to fortify data privacy in big data analytics. The study presents scalable solutions for AI-related privacy concerns, with potential applications across industries such as healthcare, finance, and enterprise cloud computing.

ICISAS 2025 reaffirmed Curtin University Dubai’s commitment to pioneering responsible AI research and innovation. By fostering knowledge exchange and discussions on ethical AI implementation, cybersecurity advancements, and sustainable computing, the conference played a vital role in shaping the future of digital transformation.
