Saudi authorities have arrested more than 25,000 individuals in a large-scale crackdown on residency, labor, and border violations, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to law enforcement and national security.

The joint security campaign, conducted between March 13 and March 19, targeted violators across multiple regions. In total, 25,150 individuals were detained during these operations, which form part of an ongoing effort to regulate labor markets and curb illegal immigration.

Authorities also processed the deportation of thousands, with 30,528 violators referred to their respective diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents. Meanwhile, 2,420 individuals were directed to finalize travel reservations, and 12,008 were deported back to their home countries.

Border security remains a key focus, with 1,553 individuals apprehended while attempting to cross illegally into Saudi Arabia. Ethiopian nationals made up the majority of these cases (69%), followed by Yemenis (28%), with the remaining 3% from other nationalities. Additionally, 63 people were caught trying to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

In a parallel operation, 36 individuals were arrested for facilitating, transporting, or sheltering illegal residents. Currently, 38,061 individuals—including 35,795 men and 2,266 women—are undergoing legal procedures as the government enforces strict penalties against violators.

Authorities have emphasized that these efforts are not just about enforcing regulations but also about ensuring public security and a well-organized labor market. The Ministry of Interior has warned citizens and legal residents against harboring or employing individuals violating immigration laws, stressing that doing so is a criminal offense punishable by fines, imprisonment, and deportation for non-Saudis.

With its ongoing crackdown, Saudi Arabia sends a clear message: adherence to legal residency and labor regulations is essential for maintaining order, security, and economic stability within the Kingdom.
