by admin477351

Sennheiser has unveiled its premium closed-back headphones, the HD 480 PRO, tailored for both studio and live audio environments. These headphones address common issues associated with closed-back designs by offering precise bass reproduction and exceptional comfort. Audio professionals who are involved in recording, tracking, or monitoring, whether in a studio, during live performances, or on the move, will find the HD 480 PRO to be an ideal choice, thanks to their meticulous design and engineering.

The HD 480 PRO stands out in the closed-back headphones market by delivering superb low-end reproduction. Jimmy R. Landry, Sennheiser’s Category Market Manager for the Music Industry, emphasized their tight and accurate bass, which sets them apart from other models. Comfort is another crucial aspect, as noted by Gunnar Dirks, Senior Product Manager for professional headphones, who highlighted the ergonomic design that prevents pressure points, providing a snug fit even for those wearing glasses. This makes them particularly suitable for audio engineers who spend long hours in sessions.

These headphones are versatile, serving a wide range of professional audio needs from studio production and mixing to live monitoring. Their precise sound reproduction ensures that audio translates accurately across various listening settings, from home speakers to PA systems. Notable figures in the music industry, such as producer Jim Kaufman and mix engineer Will Brierre, have praised the HD 480 PRO for their reliability and sound quality. Artist and producer Young Chencs and singer-songwriter Nao Yoshioka also commend the immersive sound experience and clarity these headphones offer.

The HD 480 PRO incorporates advanced features like multiple stages of passive sound shielding and a Vibration Attenuation System, which minimizes unwanted vibrations and distortion, ensuring a clear audio signal. Sennheiser has patented several design elements, including Special Axes Geometry for optimal fit and a comfort zone for glasses wearers. Additionally, the headphones feature a detachable cable that can be positioned on either side, catering to various recording setups. Braille markings on the earcups enhance accessibility.

In Sennheiser’s 400 series, the HD 480 PRO complements its open-back counterpart, the HD 490 PRO. According to Gunnar Dirks, the choice between the two depends on the user’s working environment. The HD 490 PRO is recommended for mixing in quieter settings, while the HD 480 PRO is ideal for situations requiring sound isolation. Priced at AED 1,549, the HD 480 PRO includes recording earpads and a 3-meter coiled cable, along with a carrying bag. The HD 480 PRO Plus, which comes with a travel case, is available for AED 1,749. Technical specifications include a frequency response of 3 to 28,700 Hz and a sensitivity of 107 dB SPL.
