On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led Eid Al Adha prayers at the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by key leaders, officials, and a congregation of worshippers. The occasion marked the beginning of the significant religious festival, as Sheikh Mohamed exchanged warm Eid greetings with those present.
During the sermon, Dr Omar Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, highlighted the crucial role of honesty in fostering trust, national cohesion, and social stability. He commended the UAE leadership for their dedication to unity and the advancement of national interests, reflecting on the nation’s growth and stability.
Alongside Sheikh Mohamed, other high-ranking officials such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed also participated in the prayers. In a moment of remembrance, Al Fatiha was recited in honor of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Across the United Arab Emirates, rulers and senior leaders stood with citizens and residents in prayer at prominent mosques. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed attended the service at Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined worshippers at the Sharjah Mosque.
Similar gatherings occurred throughout the Emirates, with Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi in Ajman, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi in Fujairah, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla in Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi in Ras Al Khaimah, each performing Eid prayers at their respective mosques. This collective observance marked the start of Eid Al Adha celebrations, drawing thousands to mosques nationwide, united in faith and community spirit.
