The United Arab Emirates is gearing up for a spell of intense summer heat, with inland temperatures predicted to soar up to 48°C in the coming days. This forecast comes from the National Centre of Meteorology, which has outlined that the country will experience generally stable weather conditions characterized by clear skies and light to moderate winds, with limited chances of significant weather shifts.

Friday is expected to see inland temperatures fluctuating between 44°C and 48°C. Coastal and island areas may experience slightly cooler conditions, with highs ranging from 36°C to 43°C, while mountainous areas are set to record temperatures between 32°C and 39°C. Winds are anticipated to blow from the southwest to northwest at speeds of 10 to 20kph, occasionally picking up to 30kph. The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are forecast to remain calm with slight sea conditions.

The pattern of hot and mostly clear weather is projected to persist through the weekend. On Saturday morning, there is a possibility of low cloud formation along parts of the eastern coast. At times, winds could strengthen, reaching speeds of up to 40kph. Sunday will likely bring a slight decrease in temperatures as more active northwesterly winds set in, which could result in rough sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf, although the Sea of Oman is expected to stay slight to moderate.

Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday, similar weather conditions are forecast, with fair skies and occasional morning clouds along the eastern coast. Winds are expected to be fresh at times, and sea conditions should gradually improve as the week progresses. These developments mark the UAE’s transition into typical early-summer weather, characterized by very hot daytime temperatures, clear skies, and generally stable atmospheric conditions.
