UAE Weather Alert: Rain and Dusty Winds to Impact Visibility This Week

by admin477351

The United Arab Emirates is set to experience a bout of unsettled weather over the coming days, marked by rain, fog, and dusty winds, which could pose challenges for residents and motorists. According to forecasts, these conditions are linked to surface and upper-air low-pressure systems affecting the region.

Starting Saturday, October 17, convective clouds may form over the eastern parts of the UAE in the afternoon, potentially leading to rain. Temperatures are expected to range from 37°C to 42°C inland, 35°C to 40°C along the coast, and 28°C to 33°C in mountainous areas, with skies remaining mostly fair to partly cloudy.

Rainfall might hit some northern and eastern regions on Sunday, October 18, as cloud formation continues. Increased humidity overnight and into Monday morning could lead to fog or mist in coastal and inland areas, reducing visibility and potentially affecting travel.

Monday, October 19, could see more rain in the eastern and southern areas. Fog or mist is likely to develop in some western regions overnight into Tuesday morning. Winds may reach speeds of up to 40 km/h, lifting dust in exposed areas and further complicating visibility.

Similar conditions are anticipated on Tuesday, with convective clouds possibly bringing rain to the eastern and southern parts of the country. Wind speeds may increase to 50 km/h at times, causing blowing dust and further reducing visibility.

On Wednesday, October 21, skies are expected to remain mostly clear to partly cloudy, with another chance of afternoon rain in the eastern and southern areas. High humidity levels overnight could once again result in fog or mist, particularly in coastal and inland locations by Thursday morning.

Residents and motorists are advised to stay vigilant, especially during early mornings and overnight hours, due to the potential for reduced visibility from fog, mist, and blowing dust. These weather conditions highlight the importance of being cautious and prepared for sudden changes in visibility and driving conditions.
