Tech Advances Drive Down UAE Fuel Prices Amid Global Oil Price Drop

by admin477351

In a significant shift for consumers in the United Arab Emirates, fuel prices have decreased this July, marking the first drop in five months. This reduction comes as global crude oil prices have eased, thanks to improved supply conditions worldwide.

The updated prices at the pump are as follows: Super 98 now costs Dh3.40 per litre, down from Dh3.95; Special 95 is Dh3.29 per litre, a decrease from Dh3.83; E-Plus 91 is set at Dh3.21 per litre, down from Dh3.76; and diesel has been reduced to Dh3.60 per litre from Dh4.33. These reductions in fuel costs reflect changes in international crude oil benchmarks, driven by decreased concerns over potential supply disruptions in the Middle East.

Key factors contributing to the stabilization of global energy markets include diplomatic progress involving the United States and Iran, along with improved shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. These developments have alleviated previous fears regarding supply chain interruptions and facilitated a more stable oil market.

Since 2015, the UAE has pegged its domestic fuel prices to global oil markets. Analysts attribute the current price decline to an increase in global oil supplies, augmented exports from major oil-producing countries, and the restoration of regional shipping routes, all of which have contributed to the downward trend in fuel costs.
