A significant rise in temperatures is anticipated across the UAE this week, with certain areas within Abu Dhabi poised to experience highs reaching 48°C. This is based on forecasts that predict a peak in temperatures for the region, particularly on Thursday.
In the Abu Dhabi emirate, specific locations such as Mezaira, Gasyoura, and Al Quaa are expected to bear the brunt of the heat, with temperatures potentially hitting 48°C. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi city itself is predicted to see temperatures soar to 43°C on the same day.
Meanwhile, Dubai is likely to experience slightly milder conditions. Forecasts suggest that temperatures in Dubai will climb to a maximum of 40°C on Thursday, which is relatively cooler compared to the highs expected in Abu Dhabi.
This surge in temperatures comes after a spring season that was relatively mild but punctuated by bouts of unsettled weather. Recently, temperatures have been consistently exceeding 40°C in several parts of the UAE, signaling the imminent arrival of the summer season.
The official start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, marked on June 21, is expected to usher in persistently hot weather across the region. Meteorologists anticipate that the UAE will continue to experience these elevated temperatures in the weeks ahead.
